Over the years Opera in the Hood brought you the kind of music you thought only old people in tuxedos paid top dollar to sleep through in an often dramatic, always fun presentation filled with real meanings and fresh interpretations. As Opera Voce, our artists stretch their talents further than ever before and also embrace new talent. In addition to our unique brand of "stand-up Opera" we've expanded our focus to include one acts and works from non-traditional composers and lyricists.
Our educational programs are geared to introduce youth to the performing arts through engaging activities that develop their understanding and appreciation for opera, art song, theatre, story telling, and more. We've even added a Young Artists Program, giving youth considering careers in opera and theatre, an opportunity to learn, grow, and perform.
